Coffee Social Club: Dhaka’s First Coffee Rave Marks a Cultural Shift

On April 3, 2025, Coffee Social Club (CSC) hosted its debut gathering at Lakeshore Hotel with KONA Cafe — introducing Dhaka to its first-ever coffee rave. As a pioneer in the city’s cultural scene, CSC blends soulful house music, specialty coffee, and art into a playful yet intentional space.

Founded by a team of music lovers, community builders, and café partners, CSC was created as a “third space” for connection. Their mission? To reshape Dhaka’s social landscape with experiences that feel global in quality but deeply rooted in local culture.

From the beginning, CSC set out to offer something different — a wellness-conscious social experience that moved away from late-night clubbing and overstimulation. The debut reflected that vision. Guests arrived to rich brews, warm community activities, and a lineup of DJs spinning deep and soulful house.

Episode 1: Highlights From a Strong Start

Hosted on the third day of Eid, Episode 1 quickly became a talking point in the city. Guests enjoyed crafted coffee mocktails, a scenic open-air venue, and art activities woven seamlessly between sets. The event was substance-free, inclusive, and family-friendly — signaling a cultural shift in how Dhaka gathers.

Feedback reflected the success: it felt like a global pop-up, yet it spoke to the city’s own rhythms and tastes. More than just a party, Episode 1 became a dopamine detox, bringing together people who wanted connection without the chaos.

Episode 2: What’s Next for CSC?

Now, CSC returns with Episode 2 — keeping the spirit of connection alive while adding playful new layers to the experience.

Every ticket includes a free specialty coffee (hot or iced). Expect soulful house DJ sets, curated bites and drinks from Sparrows, an arts-and-crafts bar, a community merch booth, and plenty of interactive experiences designed for fun, creativity, and genuine connection. CSC also introduces family-friendly zones, outdoor spaces, and playful environments designed for all ages. This edition is fully kid-friendly, with painting and surprise activities for children to enjoy alongside adults.

Tickets are limited to 200 spots to preserve the intimate vibe. The event enforces a strict substance-free policy to ensure a safe, inclusive atmosphere.
