1. Apple Company Had Three Founders
Apple was founded by three brilliant minds: Steve Jobs, Ronald Wayne, and Steve Wozniak. We’ve all heard of Wozniak and Jobs, but Ronald Wayne is frequently left out of the story. He was a friend of Steve Jobs’ and was responsible for compiling the Apple computer manual, and he even designed the logo.
2. It All Started with a Calculator
Steve Jobs sold his VW Microbus to raise funds for the company, while Wozniak sold his prized calculator. A scientific calculator cost more than a van, and Wozniak received $500 for the device.
3. Apple Company Has a Failed Clothing Brand
Because the project failed miserably, you may have never heard of the Apple clothing line. The clothing line, dubbed the Apple Collection, was outdated and strayed far from the product designs that helped Apple reach its current heights.
4. Bill Gates Stole from Apple
Bill Gates’ conception of the Windows operating system can be attributed to Jobs, just as Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea for Facebook from the Winklevoss brothers. Jobs had asked Gates to create an operating system for Apple, and Gates had agreed. However, when he realized the system’s potential after developing it, he chose to keep it to himself and sell it as a standalone service.
5. Apple Manufactured the Market’s First Mass-Market Color Digital Camera
Apple introduced the first mass-market color digital camera in the United States in 1994, and it could take eight photographs and connect to a Mac. The camera, known as the Apple QuickTake 100, cost $749 and was in production until 1997.
