Bangladesh’s Apparel Export Surge: The Rise of a Global Powerhouse in 2025
Bangladesh has emerged as the fastest-growing apparel exporter to the United States in Q1 2025, surpassing global giants like China, India, and Vietnam. With a remarkable $2.22 billion in exports—a 26.64% year-over-year (YoY) increase—Bangladesh is now leading the US apparel export market.
Between January and March 2025, Bangladesh’s apparel exports surged, securing a 26.64% YoY growth, marking a historic high for the country. With total US apparel imports growing by 10.95% to $20.05 billion, Bangladesh’s impressive growth outpaced all other nations, signaling a shift in global sourcing priorities.

The rise of Bangladesh’s apparel export dominance is a testament to its improved infrastructure, sustainable manufacturing practices, and commitment to ethical labor standards. In comparison, India and Pakistan showed strong growth rates of 24.04% and 17.49%, but Bangladesh’s consistency and competitive pricing helped it secure its position at the top.

Bangladesh maintained competitive pricing, with a modest 1.12% increase in average unit price, contrasting with Vietnam’s +4.42% and India’s -2.46%. This balance of cost-effectiveness and value-added manufacturing has made Bangladesh a preferred partner for US fashion brands.
The success of Bangladesh reshapes the apparel sourcing landscape. As brands diversify sourcing strategies, Bangladesh is seen as a dependable long-term partner, showcasing efficiency and compliance with global trends in ethical production.
