Aiman Islam, professionally known as Alias, is a Bangladeshi DJ and music producer whose work reflects a life shaped by migration and multicultural influence. Born in Dhaka and raised in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, the 26-year-old now lives in Vietnam, where he produces music that blends pop, R&B, and electronic elements.
That early exposure to diverse sounds led him to music theory and beat-making, setting the foundation for his creative path. “Even when I didn’t understand the lyrics, the rhythm spoke to me,” he recalls.

At 16, ahead of his first club performance, Aiman needed a stage name. He chose Alias—a last-minute decision that stuck. That night marked both his debut and the start of a long-term commitment to music.

Influenced early on by global acts like Swedish House Mafia and Illenium, his style has since evolved to include hip-hop scratching and mellow, vocal-driven productions. He typically produces full tracks independently, beginning with instrumental ideas before selecting vocal collaborators, many of whom are Vietnamese.

Pursuing a music career was not always easy. Coming from a traditional Bangladeshi household, Islam faced resistance from family. “My mother was more supportive, but my father disapproved,” he says. The tension lasted over a year, but he continued regardless. Today, he supports himself through music and says his family now respects the path he chose.

Aiman is interested in expanding collaborations with artists in both Vietnam and Bangladesh. He hopes to connect with South Asian creatives, particularly emerging Bangladeshi talents such as Muza and remix producers gaining traction on social media. “There’s a lot of creative potential back home,” he says. “I want to be part of that.”

Whether producing from his studio or performing live, Alias continues to build a sound that reflects his cross-cultural upbringing and commitment to artistic growth.
