Thikana Digital, recognized as America’s largest Bangla newspaper, has announced the appointment of Khaled Muhiuddin as its new Editor in Chief. This strategic leadership change comes at a pivotal time as Thikana Digital seeks to enhance its influence and offerings within the Bangladeshi-American community.
With over a decade of extensive experience in journalism and media management—including significant roles at Deutsche Welle’s Bangla division and leading Bangladeshi outlets like Prothom Alo and BDNews24—Muhiuddin is poised to drive innovation and growth for the publication.
In addition to his role at Thikana Digital, Muhiuddin will also serve as Director of Communications (Global Bangladeshi Diaspora) at Rivertel, a mobile telecom company dedicated to providing cutting-edge communication solutions for the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United States. This dual role positions him uniquely to explore synergies between media content and telecommunications services, creating opportunities for collaboration that can enhance connectivity and engagement within the community.
Under Muhiuddin’s leadership, Thikana Digital aims to expand its digital footprint while maintaining its commitment to delivering relevant news and information to expatriates. The newspaper has been a cornerstone of the Bangladeshi-American community for over 35 years and is now set to leverage new technologies that resonate with an increasingly tech-savvy audience. The collaboration with Rivertel is expected not only to enrich media offerings but also to ensure that the diaspora remains closely connected with their cultural roots.
As both Thikana Digital and Rivertel embark on this transformative journey, they are committed to fostering a vibrant community dialogue that reflects the needs and aspirations of Bangladeshis living across North America.
