Dhallywood megastar Shakib Khan’s high-octane action thriller Borbaad has officially launched its international release, marking a groundbreaking moment for Bangladeshi cinema. Produced by SK Films, the blockbuster hit premiered domestically on March 31, 2025, during Eid-ul-Fitr, and is now captivating global audiences.
Directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy, Borbaad is being hailed as one of the most ambitious and expensively-produced Bangladeshi films to date, with a staggering budget of Tk 15–18 crore. Featuring Shakib Khan, Idhika Paul, and Indian actor Jisshu Sengupta—making a grand return to Bangladeshi cinema after 23 years—the film sets a new standard for cross-border cinematic collaboration.
A staggering 80% of the film was shot internationally, with jaw-dropping action sequences choreographed by Ravi Varma, a stunt director known for his work across South Asia.

Following its runaway domestic success, Borbaad has begun its international theatrical rollout, expanding the global footprint of Dhallywood.
