Uncle Bobo’s started because of a trip to Australia.
Co-founder Aria Tasneem Ahmed tasted authentic Taiwanese fried chicken abroad. She immediately knew Dhaka was missing out. The result is Uncle Bobo’s, a vibrant new spot in Banani, now also in Uttara and Bashundhara.
They aren’t trying to be a fancy sit-down restaurant. This is an intentional nod to Taiwan’s bustling street food culture. It is fast, casual, and designed for Dhaka’s busy lifestyle.
The concept is simple. A kitchen cart, an open-air vibe, and a mascot named “Bobo.”

Uncle Bobo menu is concise and confident. It centers around one star attraction: the XXL Fried Chicken.
This isn’t your standard fast-food bird. It is a massive, boneless cutlet. They flatten it to the size of a face. Then, they fry it to a golden, jagged crisp.
Here is what you need to order:

Since opening in February 2025, the crowd has spoken. The consensus? You might need two hands for this chicken.
“I had the meal at Centrepoint outlet. The five spice chicken was amazing. The sandwich was okay too. Perhaps a tad bit lower price would have made the experience better. Nevertheless, enjoyed the chicken’s light crispness and unique flavour. Looking forward to try the other flavours in future.’’

In a city obsessed with grand interiors, Uncle Bobo’s refuses to complicate things. This team zigged where others zagged. They focused on the “drive-through” gap in the market.
Pull up. Grab a hot bag of food. Enjoy it while it’s fresh.
The atmosphere is shaped by its limitations. The street itself becomes the dining room. It is casual and unpretentious.
The late hours make it even better. Being open till 4 AM turns it into a small gift for night owls, shift workers, students, and anyone stuck in Dhaka’s nocturnal rhythm.

Uncle Bobo’s walks a fine line between flavours.
The Five-Spice is unapologetically Taiwanese. But the team wasn’t afraid to experiment.
They introduced fusion flavors like Smokey Lime to suit the local palate. This adaptability shows a scrappy, entrepreneurial spirit.
Navigating construction and introducing a new dining format isn’t easy. But they are doing it. They aren’t just selling chicken; they are selling a new way to eat in Dhaka.
Uncle BoBo has donned a very vibrant blue color as their primary brand color and the white accent makes their Taiwanese Fried Chicken packages very distinctive.
Their fried chickens are packaged in a box that allows for air circulation to maintain crispiness, often described as ” Taiwanese Street Food Style” packaging, emphasizing its large, boneless cut and bold flavors like Five Spice and Smokey Lime.
