Ami Dhaka and Arka take the global stage as Bangladesh’s sole delegate at Moscow’s premier fashion gathering.
Bangladesh at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit
This week, Bangladesh made its mark at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit (Aug 28–30, 2025), held in Moscow’s Concert Hall Zaryadye. Representing the country was Asad Sattar—founder of Arka Fashion Week and Creative Director of Ami Dhaka as the sole delegate from Bangladesh.
As part of a high-level plenary session, Sattar spoke alongside global fashion leaders about the future of the industry. He called for Bangladesh to evolve from being a manufacturing hub to a creative exporter of culture, heritage, and contemporary design.
Ami Dhaka Walks the Global Runway
Beyond the summit, Sattar also presented his fashion label, Ami Dhaka, at Moscow Fashion Week. Known for its design philosophy of “Heritage Futurism,” Ami Dhaka fuses traditional Bangladeshi craftsmanship with forward-thinking silhouettes.
Sattar wore unreleased Ami Dhaka pieces on the ground in Moscow, spotlighting slow fashion and Dhaka’s artisan roots. “Ami Dhaka translates to ‘I am Dhaka’,” he said. “I carry the city’s soul wherever I go.”
