Oli Boy: The Nigerian Sensation Making Waves in the Bengali Music Industry

In a major development, Bangladeshi nationals are now eligible to apply for the U.S. E-2 investor visa. This follows Bangladesh’s formal recognition as a treaty country, opening new doors for entrepreneurs aiming to launch or manage a business in the United States.
Unlike the EB-5 visa, which requires a multi-million dollar investment, the E-2 provides a more affordable and faster route to live and work in the U.S. through business ownership.
There’s no legally fixed investment minimum. But based on past approvals, Bangladeshi applicants are advised to invest $150,000 or more.
The money must be placed “at risk” in a real, operating U.S. business. Whether it’s a new startup, a franchise, or buying into an existing company, investors must show they own at least 50% or have full operational control.
Funds can be self-earned or gifted, as long as the source is fully documented and traceable.

Applicants in Bangladesh can expect consular processing to take 2 weeks to 4 months. If applying from within the U.S., it’s 4–5 months, or 15 days with premium processing.
Spouses and children under 21 can join under derivative E-2 status. Spouses are also eligible to apply for a U.S. work permit, adding flexibility for dual-income families.
Initial E-2 visas last between 3 months and 5 years, depending on the applicant’s passport. Renewals are allowed indefinitely, as long as the business stays active and compliant.
The E-2 visa is now a promising path for Bangladeshi entrepreneurs seeking growth, mobility, and family relocation—without the financial burden of other visa categories.
